1258 – the town is granted town privileges, granting of villages, the town is called Nový Velehrad (“New Velehrad”)
1294 – the name Hradiště (“fortress”) used for the first time
1312 – the first record of municipal seal
1362 – municipal hospital with St. Elisabeth chapel founded
1421 – mile privilege for beer brewing and selling, settling of craftsmen
1429 – the privilege of salt storage
1467 – 1470 – Czech-Hungarian wars, the town is besieged
1472 – the town is freed from the appellation to Brno
1481 – the town coat-of-arms improved with Matthias Corvinus
1491 – Franciscan monastery founded
1514 – Jews evicted from the town
1587 – for the first time is Hradiště called Uherské (“Hungarian”)
1644 – Jesuit school opened
1654 – 1662 – Jesuit dormitory built
1658 – 1702 – new fortification built
1670 – 1685 Jesuit church consecrated to St. Francis Xaverius is built
1680 – the bishop gave his consent to built a chapel to honor St. Sebastian, Rochus and Rosalie over the viniferous mountain of Mařatice (finished in 1687)
1681 – the fire that broke out in the Franciscan monastery destroyed much of the town
1686 – the St. Francis Xaverius church is dedicated
1688 – new municipal brewery is built in Jarošov
1715 – one of the most devastating plague epidemics swept through the town; commemorated by many buildings in the town
1721 – the Virgin Mary column is built
1723 – municipal armory built
1742(1) – the town seized by Prussian army
1773 – the Jesuit dormitory and school are disestablished, the Jesuit church becomes parish
1782 – fortress abolished
1785 – St. George church torn down
1786 – regulated magistrate established
1848 – a cell of the Slovanská lípa (“Slavic lime”) organization established – state administration reorganized; Uherské Hradiště becomes a district town
1867 – Měšťanská beseda founded
1867 – 1869 – German-language grammar school built
1875 – synagogue built
1884 – Czech-language grammar school established
1885 – the building of the Czech-language grammar school finished
1891 – 1893 – new town hall built
1891 – 1897 - regional court of justice and prison built
1905 – iron bridge over the Morava river built
1913 – the building of Czech schools at the Comenius square built
1914 – the Museum of Moravian Slovakia established
1945 – the Theater of Moravian Slovakia established
